Jacob Hasklowicz contract form

Our monument company was founded in 1879 by Jacob Hasklowicz in Poland as shown on the letterhead. His son, Benjamin Haskell, who changed his name to hide his Jewish heritage, immigrated from Poland to the United States in 1921. In 1923, he restarted and managed his own retail monument business, which employed stonecutters, stone carvers, engravers, and stone setters who he personally trained. Benjamin Haskell was a genius, an inventor, and a wonderful grandfather. He passed away in his 50s in 1963.

Benjamin's son, Irving Haskell, took over the business, which was located in Bronx, NY. He was successful at maintaining a good balance in life between work and play. He even flew his own plane between his residences in New York and Florida. He died in 1986 at the age of 59.
